Abstract

 

In this introduction, the three authors summarize key debates in the intersection of feminist sociology and a sociological critique of capitalism. These are presented in three sections: capitalism as a context of power, theories of justice, and practices of criticizing capitalism. The focus is not only on academic, theoretical discourses, but also on practical actions, thus reflecting sociology's dual role: to produce and to reproduce social relations. The book is topped off by an interview with ecofeminist activist Ariel Salleh. This introductory volume serves as an excellent starting point for further research and exploration.
