The present compendium focuses on disciplinary perspectives which at times are poorly represented in the social scientific debate about intersectionality as a "new paradigm of gender studies" (Gudrun Axeli-Knapp): historiography, medieval studies and literary studies. This volume mainly contains examples of empirical accesses to intersectionality as a research practice. This focus also changes the perspective in the current debates about intersectional categories of analysis, e.g. how to select, determine, reconstruct or deconstruct them. Intersectionality is presented as a perspective of research that can help to grasp the multidimensionality of gender by means of diverse theories and methods.References
